How the Direct Hire Processing works?
Helper MUST be physically FIT TO WORK before we start the processing.
Philippine Consulate Processing: Seven (7) working days. The Philippine
Consulate’s office is open from Monday to Thursday. The contract must be
VERIFIED by the PhilCon. Once we received the contract, we will check and sort
out the documentation to make sure that all the information and requirements are
complete before submitting to the Hong Kong Immigration.
Hong Kong Immigration: Upon submission of documents to the Hong Kong
Immigration Department, assessment will takes four (4) to six (6) weeks. For
request to EXPEDITE the process could be shorter than four (4) to five (5) weeks
depending on the case. Insufficient information might prompt to ask for more
supporting documents.
Once the Visa issued, we will send the documents including the Visa to our
counterpart agency in the Philippines. It will take two (2) to three (3) working days
before they receive the documents by speed post. Afterwards, they can apply for
a "Mandatory Insurance" including OEC for two (2) days. Pregnancy test has to
be done before the issuance of the airline ticket to the Helper.
Important : All domestic helpers bound for Hong Kong need OEC. Without OEC,
domestic helpers cannot leave the country. OEC is being issued by the
POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration).
How long does it take to wait for VISA APPROVAL?
Upon submission of the documents to the Hong Kong Immigration Department,
assessment will take four (4) to six (6) weeks. For request to expedite, the process
could be shorter than four (4) to five (5) weeks depending on the case.
Insufficient information might prompt to ask for more supporting documents.
Note: After the submission of documentation, you will receive an acknowledgement
letter from the Immigration after two weeks with the Reference Number. Once you
receive your Reference Number, you can now check your application status online
or you may call your agency to follow up your case. The agency staff will gladly
assist you provided that you already have your Reference Number ready..
FACTORS that makes processing longer:
(i) Submission of inadequate necessary information
(e.g. proof of address, income proof etc.)
(ii) Employer cannot be reached by the Hong Kong Immigration officer for additional
requirements or information;
(iii) The Employer and Domestic Helper have past labour disputes appearing in
the records of the Hong Kong Immigration.
What is AIRLINE DIFFERENCE?
Airline difference means the price of actual airline ticket is higher than
the allocated ticket cost of HK$ 600.00 which is included in your Direct Hire
Processing Fee of HK$4,000.00
In the event that the airline company charges the agency higher amount than the
ticket cost as a result of increased rate in global oil prices, high season price
increase, airline crew strike or for whatever reasons, the airline difference is
passed on to the Employer. This is to absorb the difference in airline ticket cost
that was allocated for the Helper flight from Manila to Hong Kong.
Please refer to the explanation reflected in the Refund Scheme attached to the
OFFICIAL RECEIPT once Direct Hire Processing Fee is paid.
